Job Requirements

High level English communication abilities and skills to interact with United Gulf team members, architects, engineers and construction supervisors is required in order to play an active part in efficient interaction and pragmatic results.  

 

Education

College/GEGEP/ Post-secondary education, community college and/or architectural design courses with latest in Revit drafting capabilities are a must for this job position.

 

Experience

A solid understanding of North American/ Canadian construction in wood framing as well as concrete construction is essential. Minimum of 2 to 5 year experience dealing with construction details and project development processes is an asset. Some knowledge of the Canadian National Building Code requirements is a recommended.

 

 Own equipment

All equipment for this job is provided by the employer. A cellular phone is to be supplied by the applicant.

The applicant will be expected to work as a team player with in-house staff, sitting and/or standing, work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and excel in producing development and construction drawings with attention to details and specifications.  

 

Personal qualifications

The applicant is expected to be Initiative, friendly, a team player, have excellent oral communication skills, flexible in project approaches with effective interpersonal skills, as well as well organized.

 

Architectural Specialization

The applicant needs to have 2- 5 year experience in Canadian residential and commercial construction and renovation practices as wells as interior space planning.

 

Computer technology and knowledge

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Word.

 

Required Qualifications

  • AutoCAD and Revit MEP proficiency
  • Ability to follow orders as well as mentor and lead
  • Coordinating the collection of data and incorporating such information into drawings, maps and schematics, while consulting with engineers, architects, project managers and other workers involved in those projects. Work closely with the engineering, scientific, and design teams to ensure effective project coordination.
  • Taking care of complex drafting and designing assignments, reviews and drawings for accuracy and completeness. Maintaining all revisions of project drawings. Organizing and maintaining project drawings, files, and related information.
  • Creating drawings and models from verbal and written specifications that are obtained from the project engineers, examine and check engineering drawings to comply with cited specifications. Conducts drawing reviews as appropriate for completeness and accuracy.
  • Working with the staff regarding drafting standards, model design and accuracy, as well as design documentation. Performing quality reviews, trouble shoot and assist with AutoCAD/Revit program.
  • Follow Environmental, Safety, Health & Quality policies and procedures to ensure and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to produce drawings and plans that are organized, clear, easy to read and technically accurate
  • Ability to work in a cost-effective, customer-focused, team-based environment
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Outlook and FTP software

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient use of CAD, Revit and Photoshop software to create detailed drawings that include dimensions, procedures and required materials. Use views and angles to show the association between systems and components.
  • Ability to work on multi-disciplined projects as needed
  • Ability to field verify drawing information (as-built) as needed
  • Ability to create 3D models by analyzing 2D drawings and prototype
  • Ability to create realistic virtual 3D modeling for project proposals
